Bloomington is more than a city on a map.
It is a place where generations intersect—students and professors, families and retirees, lifelong residents and people arriving from around the world.
It is a city shaped by learning, conversation, creativity, and the search for meaning.
We believe those qualities make Bloomington fertile ground for a community rooted in Scripture, hospitality, worship, and authentic relationships.
Now is the season to begin forming the prayer, relationships, stewardship, and preparation a healthy community will need. One practical need is identifying an appropriate gathering place where welcome and shared life can take root.

What does “Messianic” mean?
Rooted in the Jewish story. Centered on Yeshua. Open to everyone.
“Messianic” describes a faith rooted in the Jewish story of Scripture and centered on Yeshua—Jesus—the Messiah.
It honors the biblical foundations of the faith while welcoming Jewish and Gentile believers to worship, learn, pray, and grow together.
Founding Partner Stewards do not need to arrive with every answer. They are invited to approach this foundation with humility, teachability, and a shared commitment to keep Yeshua at the center.
We honor the Jewish roots of the faith.
We recognize that the story of Yeshua is inseparable from the story of Israel, the Hebrew Scriptures, and the covenants of God.
We believe Yeshua is the Messiah.

The community is the spiritual home and foundation—a place for worship, prayer, Scripture, fellowship, healing, service, and shared life.
Rabbi MG Studio is a separate creative ministry and storytelling studio. Through music, film, writing, presentations, and immersive story worlds, it seeks to carry faith, hope, testimony, and meaningful stories beyond the walls of the congregation.

The story behind the vision
Sometimes a calling begins with a quiet invitation.
This vision did not begin with a plan to start an organization.
It began with years of prayer, searching, learning, creating, and listening for God’s direction.
Over time, a consistent conviction emerged:
To help build a spiritual home where people could encounter God, grow in community, and rediscover the beauty of Scripture through the Jewish roots of the faith.
Bloomington became the place where the vision took shape. The next chapter is not to build alone, but to gather people who may be called to steward its foundation together.
Meet Rabbi MG
Matt Goodman (“Rabbi MG”) is a storyteller, songwriter, filmmaker, author, and creative ministry leader whose work has explored faith, family, community, and hope through music, films, books, and Story Worlds.
Rabbi MG Studio grew from that creative calling.
This future Messianic community grows from the same desire—but with a different purpose:
To create a spiritual home where people can worship, pray, learn, and walk faithfully together.
I do not believe anyone builds a community alone.
My hope is simply to respond faithfully to the invitation God has placed before me—and to walk alongside others who feel called to help build something beautiful together.

Must someone be Jewish to participate?+
No.
The community is intended to welcome both Jewish and Gentile believers, as well as people who are sincerely exploring faith and the Jewish roots of Scripture.
No one will be expected to erase their background or become culturally Jewish in order to belong.

An appropriate gathering place has not yet been identified. This is one of the practical needs Founding Partner Stewards may help prayerfully explore.
Early meetings may begin in homes, borrowed spaces, community rooms, or another welcoming environment in or near Bloomington. The location will grow with the needs of the community.
What will gatherings be like?+
The vision includes worship, prayer, biblical teaching, testimony, shared meals, conversation, hospitality, and intergenerational community.
The exact rhythm and format will be shaped prayerfully with the people who become part of the founding season.
Will children and families be welcome?+
Yes.
Intergenerational life is central to the vision. The hope is to create a community where children, students, adults, and elders are known, valued, and able to learn from one another.
Specific children’s programming will develop as the community grows and real needs become known.
